ACADEMICS > PRE-PRIMARY
At Nasra School, our Pre-Primary levels include: Nursery, Junior Prep (JP), and Senior Prep (SP). (The age groups for each level are indicated below). The 3 years of Pre-Primary education constitute an instrumental foundational experience for a child's ability to absorb knowledge and interact with others in a learning environment. Since children of this age group learn primarily through play and engaging activities, we implement the ECED Learning Model (details discussed below). Our qualified teaching faculty ensures that children will begin to read and write basic words, along with comprehending instructions in both Urdu and English, so that they may advance to Class I with confidence, enthusiasm and a never-ending desire to learn.
OUR LEARNING MODEL & FACILITIES
Early Childhood Education Development (ECED) focuses on various activities to engage small children including dramatic readings during story time, indoor and outdoor games, sing-along rhymes, coloring and team sports. We provide an interactive, fun-filled atmosphere with our spacious rooms containing brightly colored walls and children's furniture; a vast array of educational toys, challenging puzzles and multi-purpose flash cards; a sizable collection of top-rated books for every classroom's allocated reading corner.
In addition to conventional art classes which encourage free-hand creativity, music and singing classes led by a professional music teacher adept with a piano/keyboard are especially popular amongst our tiny tots who adore expressing their bubbly confidence. With the intent of nurturing confidence and talent starting from a tender age, ETNS holds an annual pre-primary concert, giving our young pupils an opportunity to perform live on stage for delighted parents and faculty.
Nasra School has several enthralling outdoor amenities to encourage the development of our students' imaginations and propel healthy physical growth. We provide a sandbox, swings and climbing set for use during playtime, and a custom-built toy room containing a spectacular doll house and model furniture (plastic kitchen model, dressing room model, etc) for children to role-play while emulating domestic duties.
Other general school facilities include access to clean drinking water, hygienic washrooms (with helping assistants for small children if necessary), backup generators and an annual medical checkup for all students.
Remaining true to its approach of holistic education for attaining balanced excellence, the ETNS curriculum encourages participation in a variety of physical activities, to develop a lithe body as well as an agile and curious mind. For our pre-primary section, we offer a multitude of fun and exciting sports and games, in the form of both individual and group activities to foster team spirit, respect and cooperation amongst peers. A professional karate teacher hosts bi-weekly sessions for students of ETNS Senior Prep.
Our annual Pre-Primary Sports Day is a much anticipated event with its team races, awe-inspiring PT displays and all around ebullient performances.
Please see our facebook page for videos of performances and PT displays.
PRE-PRIMARY ANNUAL PROJECT DAY
Our Annual Project Day at the end of each academic year offers a wondrous opportunity for our Pre-Primary pupils to display various projects created pertaining to art, math and science. Their creativity, imagination and strenuous efforts reflect the year-long learning and rapid progress encouraged by our ECED program. Visitors including parents, management and staff are welcome to join us in our appreciation of the students, as well as to observe the nurturing learning environment provided by Nasra School and its exceptional faculty.
Before enrolling in Nasra School's Pre-Primary Program, each child must undergo a test along with an interview of the parents. Gross motor and socialization skills of the child are considered. Please see the Admissions page for more details.
